It’s called the Heart and Soul Tour, and it’s coming to Starlight Theater on Aug. 21, a Friday.
Heart isn’t on the bill, but Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire are.
In July, Chicago released its 23rd studio album, “Chicago XXXVI: Now.” The band, founded in 1967, includes original members Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider and longtime bassist Jason Scheff, who joined in 1985.
In 2014, Earth Wind & Fire released “Holiday,” a collection of Christmas carols. Its previous album, “Now, Then & Forever,” released in 2013, was its first album of original material without music credits to Maurice White, who founded the band in 1969. In addition to White, the current lineup includes his brother Verdine White and Philip Bailey, who joined the band in 1972.
Each show will feature a finale with both bands on stage, performing each other’s songs. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. March 13. Tickets will be available at KCStarlight.com, at the Starlight box office or by calling 816-363-7827.
