KC Symphony percussionist will strike a blow for Mahler

In the coming weekend’s Kansas City Symphony concerts, keep your eye and ear out for a cameo, but vital, appearance by a yard-sale find, one that has been elevated to the ranks of musical legend. Three times in the last movement of Gustav Mahler’s gargantuan Symphony No. 6, percussionist Christopher McLaurin will fill the air with a resounding hammer blow.
