With graphic novel, Algerian war gets a KC artist’s interpretation

Algeria celebrates the 50th anniversary of its independence from France this year, and a local project has been part of the festivities. Conger Beasley Jr., a novelist and travel writer who lives in St. Joseph, and Geo Sipp, a professor of art at Western Missouri University, collaborated on a graphic novel about the Algerian war.
