Timothy Finn | New Edition’s old song and dance stirs crowd into a warm frenzy

New Edition's success in the early 1980s preceded the boy-band tyranny of the late 1990s, when the Backstreet Boys and N’Sync sold tens of millions of records, but N.E. clearly set the template and wrote some of the formulas for their success. That was still evident during Friday’s show at the Sprint Center, when the band took their crowd on a groovy, dance-happy trip back in time.
