Robert Trussell | Theatrical ballet ‘Tom Sawyer’ is a bit earthbound

When I attended the second performance of “Tom Sawyer: A Ballet in 3 Acts,” I got more than I bargained for. I expected a ballet, of course. But I didn’t expect more than one. There were times when it worked quite well, pulling the viewer into a compelling alternate reality. But too often it seemed a literal-minded adaptation of the source material.
