Robert Trussell | Production exposes the dramatic weaknesses in ‘Red’

The seamlessly executed Broadway production of “Red” was so dazzling that some of us failed to recognize just how laborious John Logan’s script really is. In the workmanlike production at the Unicorn Theatre the play seems less a cerebral drama than a self-conscious effort to convince us that the easy-to-digest ideas being tossed around are profound.
