Robert Trussell | Fringe Festival’s guerrilla roots found in ‘gorilla’ theater

The Kansas City Fringe Festival, which runs through July 31, has generated its share of vivid recollections. The festival can trace its roots to the mid-1990s, when David Luby recited a soliloquy from “Hamlet” at a downtown bus stop while wearing a gorilla suit.
