The Classical Beat | Wallets open wide for music programs in Joplin schools

Trilla Ray-Carter, who teaches cello at William Jewell College and is director of Kansas City Baroque Consortium, grew up in Joplin and received her first instruction in cello at Irving Elementary. Now she is helping organize fundraising efforts in Joplin to help rebuild school music programs that have been a source of pride to her and so many others.
