Robert Trussell | KC Rep’s ‘Peer Gynt’ is smart, funny but hard to follow

The Kansas City Repertory Theatre production of “Peer Gynt,” which closes the company’s 2010-2011 season, invites a series of laudatory adjectives, but at the same time, director David Schweizer’s mashup of Henrik Ibsen’s 1867 verse epic is oblique, dense, pretentious and hard to follow.
