Weather conditions have prompted the New Theatre in Overland Park to cancel tonight's performance of "Lend Me a Tenor" as well as the Wednesday matinee.
This marks the first time the dinner theater has canceled a show since the ice storm of 2001, when the playhouse lost power. Theater personnel this morning were in the process of contacting ticket-holders about the cancellations.

The show is slated to run through April 3.
In addition, Quality Hill Playhouse has canceled both its evening and Wednesday matinee performances of "Blues in the Night," scheduled to run through Feb. 20. The cancellations were triggered by the "extreme weather and potentially dangerous driving conditions," according to the company's website. The theater was attempting to contact ticket-holders.
The Unicorn Theatre also canceled tonight's performance of "In the Next Room or the vibrator play."
No performance of Kansas City Repertory Theatre's production of "Another American: Asking and Telling" was programmed tonight. A Rep spokesman said the Wednesday evening performance would go on as scheduled.
