The popular Krispy Kreme donut promotion is long gone at Kauffman Stadium. You remember – if the Royals got 12 hits, a ticket from the game was good for a dozen donuts.
Well there are other freebies at games this year, but you need a scorecard to keep track of them.
If the Royals score in the 7th inning at Kauffman, all fans with a game ticket get a free small hot fudge sundae at any Sheridan’s Frozen Custard outlet in Kansas City within seven days. The Royals scored in the 7th inning Thursday and Friday.
If Royals pitchers strike out six players in a game, tickets can be redeemed by midnight the next day at any Circle K for a 32-ounce soft drink or 20-ounce Ajava coffee along with a Snicker’s bar. The Royals struck out six Thursday in game 2 of the doubleheader.
If the Royals win at home or away, just mention the victory the next day and get a six-inch turkey sub at Planet Sub for $2. Or, bring the stub from a game won at Kauffman for $10 off a $50 purchase at Dick’s Sporting Goods within seven days.
Finally, a ticket stub for any game brings a $3 admission savings at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and two-for-one Hallmark Expressions greeting cards at Hy-Vee grocery stores.
There are various other discounts advertised on the radio but these are the ones the Royals publicize.
Okay, so who can remember all this? Might be best to just to print this out and put it next to that Royals’ schedule on your refrigerator.
