Christina Aguilera making big-screen debut in 'Burlesque'
More News
Move over Beyonce.
Four-time Grammy winner Christina Aguilera is horning in on the big-screen action.
Variety reports that Aguilera will make her screen debut in "Burlesque," a contemporary musical directed by (brother of Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin) and written with her in mind.
And guess who's producing? Screen Gems, which just brought us Beyonce in the hit thriller, "Obsessed."
Aguilera will play an ambitious small town girl with a big voice who finds love and happiness in a Los Angeles burlesque club that calls to mind Bob Fosse's "Cabaret."
No word on whether they'll use her music, but why wouldn't they? The film begins shooting later this year after her next album and tour.
