London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Fourth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov knocked out top-seeded Stan Wawrinka 6-2, 6-4 to reach the final at the Aegon Championships on Saturday.
Dimitrov grabbed a 3-2 lead in the first set when his Swiss foe double- faulted, then broke again to go up 5-2. Wawrinka failed to convert two break points in the next game as a wide backhand gave the Bulgarian the set.
The Australian Open champion Wawrinka missed a forehand wide, giving Dimitrov another break and a 4-3 lead in the second set.
Dimitrov served out the match with the last of his nine aces, clinching a spot in his first final on grass and third this season. He won titles in Acapulco and Bucharest.
Feliciano Lopez, seeded 10th this week, will play Dimitrov in Sunday's final at this Wimbledon warm-up event after topping 15th-seeded Czech Radek Stepanek 7-6 (9-7), 6-4.
The Spaniard earned a place in his first final of 2014. He won his only grass- court title at Eastbourne last year and defeated Dimitrov at this tournament in 2010 in their lone previous encounter.
