Birmingham, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic advanced to the final of the Aegon Classic with a 6-2, 6-2 win over ninth- seeded Chinese Zhang Shuai on Saturday.
The top-seeded Serbian rebounded from dropping the match's first two games to win in just over 57 minutes.
Sunday's final will be the first one Ivanovic contests on grass. She will vie for her third title this year and 14th of her career.
Ivanovic next plays Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, who beat 16th-seeded Australian Casey Dellacqua 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to book her place in the final of the Wimbledon warm-up event.
Dellacqua never recovered after Zahlavova Strycova fought back from being down 5-1 in the tiebreak. The first set twice was interrupted by rain.
Zahlavova Strycova, a 17-time doubles champion, will play in her fourth singles final and first since finishing runner-up at Palermo in 2012. She captured her lone singles title at Quebec City in 2011.
Ivanovic won both prior meetings with Zahlavova Strycova.
