Sports week ahead: Negro Leagues Baseball Museum heralds the greatness of Buck

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will continue its tradition of celebrating the life of Buck O’Neil with several events this week. O’Neil would have turned 97 this Thursday.

•Thanks a Million Buck Day: Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; First Watch restaurants will donate the day’s profits to the Negro Leagues and the effort to build the Buck O’Neil Education and Research Center. Alumni from the Negro Leagues and the Royals will appear.

•Fazzino unveiled: Thursday, 2:30 p.m., the Negro Leagues will welcome 3-D pop artist Charles Fazzino, who will unveil his first piece in tribute to the Negro Leagues.

•A Motown salute to Buck: Saturday, 8 p.m.. The event includes a Motown musical tribute and a concert by the Motown group the Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards.
