Lone Jack’s Lyle wins title at Lakeside Speedway

More News

Chad Lyle made his mark in the history books Friday night.

Lyle, from Lone Jack, won his third modified points championship at Lakeside Speedway. He’s the first racer to win three point titles since the track went back to dirt in 2000.

He didn’t just cruise with the middle of the pack Friday to get his point title. Lyle led from start to finish, while avoiding a wreck that took out a portion of the field. He also held off Tim Karrick, who finished second in both the race and the points.

Karrick and Clint Bowyer both have won two modified point championships.

In the Grand Nationals division, Nic Bidinger had already sealed a point title after picking up 11 victories this season. He made it 12 in the final race of the year.

I-70 WIN FOR KING: Joey King led from start to finish in the ASA World Cup 100 on Saturday at I-70 Speedway.

King, from Silvis, Ill., held off the rest of the 23-car field and picked up his first win of the 2008 season.

Several local drivers also picked up wins: Ronnie Hartford, Jason Isabell, Brad Johnson and Robert Rodriguez.
