Miami suspends seven players
The University of Miami has suspended seven football players for the season opener against Charleston Southern, including quarterback Robert Marve.
The school confirmed Sunday that Marve, a redshirt freshman who was expected to start, will sit out Thursday’s game. Freshman Jacory Harris of Miami will call the signals.
Marve was arrested in October for smashing a car mirror, but two misdemeanors against him were dropped. The school did not identify the six other players.

The season championship in hand, Stewart raced to his 11th win in 11 events Sunday at the Kicker Audio Southwick Motocross National in Massachusetts. He will try to complete the perfect season next weekend in Delmont, Pa.
