Annika Sorenstam, who announced Tuesday that she is retiring at the end of 2008 season, did play once in Kansas City — at Tom Watson’s Children’s Mercy Hospital Classic in 1998.

It poured most of that day, but Sorenstam, Karrie Webb and Ernie Els still splashed their way around the Blue Hills Country Club course with Watson.
