<strong><span class="subhead">Joubert wins NHK Trophy</span></strong></p><p><strong>Brian Joubert</strong> won the NHK Trophy on Saturday in Nagano, Japan, finishing with 232.70 points for a 15-point margin over skater <strong>Johnny Weir</strong> of the United States. <strong>Michal Brezina</strong> was third with 217.48 points.</p><p><strong>Miki Ando</strong> won the women&rsquo;s event, overtaking American <strong>Ashley Wagner</strong> in the free skate. <strong>Alena Leonova</strong> ended up second with 160.85, while Wagner was third with 155.99.</p><p><strong>Pang Qing</strong> and <strong>Tong Jian</strong> won the pairs event.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Reutter wins women&rsquo;s 1,500</span></strong></p><p><strong>Katherine Reutter </strong>of the United States won the speed skating 1,500 meters on Saturday at Montreal&rsquo;s World Cup event, beating South Korea&rsquo;s <strong>Ha-Ri Cho</strong>. <strong>Charles Hamelin</strong> of Canada won the men&rsquo;s 1,500. U.S. star <strong>Apolo Anton Ohno</strong> failed to qualify for the men&rsquo;s 1,500 final. </p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Haye wins heavyweight title</span></strong></p><p><strong>David Haye</strong> used his superior quickness to surprise <strong>Nikolai Valuev</strong>, winning a majority decision on Saturday night and claiming the WBA heavyweight title in Nuremberg, Germany.</p><p>Haye, the former cruiserweight titleholder, won his third fight at heavyweight, despite giving up nearly a foot and 100 pounds to Valuev. The scores were 116-112 on two of the judges&rsquo; cards, and a 114-114 draw on the other.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Federer to play Djokovic</span></strong></p><p><strong>Roger Federer</strong> will play <strong>Novak Djokovic</strong> in the Swiss Indoors final today in Basel. Federer defeated childhood friend <strong>Marco Chiudinelli</strong> 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 in one semifinal. Earlier, Djokovic rallied to beat <strong>Radek Stepanek</strong> 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-2.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Twins exercise Cuddyer&rsquo;s option</span></strong></p><p>The Minnesota Twins have picked up outfielder <strong>Michael Cuddyer&rsquo;s </strong>$10.5 million option for 2011. Cuddyer hit a career-high 32 home runs to lead the team.
