The road from Lee’s Summit West to the Missouri football program just became a little more well-traveled.
Lee’s Summit West junior running back Ryan Williams announced Saturday his commitment to Missouri. He follows in the footsteps of Lee’s Summit West teammates Logan Cheadle and Kevin Pendleton, who signed with MU earlier this winter following their senior seasons with the Titans.
“MU just feels like a family,” said Williams, who visited Missouri’s campus and attended the Tigers’ basketball game Saturday. “From their fans, coaches and players, I just fit here.”
Williams has been a good fit for the Titans, too. He has rushed for 2,058 yards over the past two seasons, combining for 23 rushing touchdowns. Lee’s Summit West won the Missouri Class 5 state championship last fall.
Williams (5 feet 11 inches and 180 pounds) is noted for his speed and shiftiness out of the backfield as well as his pass-catching ability.
The Missouri football roster already includes two former Titans, — offensive lineman Evan Boehm and defensive back Jordan Wade.
