Dom Dwyer is on a historic run against the Montreal Impact.
And it’s landed him a spot on the Major League Soccer team of the week.
Dwyer netted a pair of goals for Sporting Kansas City in a 2-2 draw Saturday in Montreal, giving him nine goals lifetime against the Impact.
All nine have come in the last five meetings between the teams, which puts Dwyer in an exclusive club. Only three players in MLS history have scored nine goals over a five-game stretch against the same franchise — Tampa Bay’s Mamadou Diallo against the LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry against Montreal.
Dwyer was named to the MLS team of the week Monday. Sporting KC midfielder Benny Feilhaber was named to the “bench” for the team of the week.
