Sporting Kansas City defender Aurelien Collin has been selected for his third-consecutive MLS All-Star Game.
The French defender joins teammates Matt Besler and Graham Zusi representing Kansas City on the gameday roster.
“It’s a great honor having the opportunity to play in the MLS All-Star Game for the third year in a row,” Collin said in a press release. “It’s a reflection of all the work that Sporting Kansas City has put into reaching our goals.”
Collin has been named to the MLS Best XI the last two seasons and was a Defender of the Year candidate in 2012. His 15 goals are also most among defenders in MLS action since 2011.
Besler and Zusi were voted onto the Fan XI for the match against the German champions Bayern Munich. All three are eligible for selection by Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter.
The MLS All-Star Game is August 6 at Providence Park in Portland.
