Bummer the luck.

A group of Argentinian soccer fans watched the full 90 minutes of Wednesday’s World Cup semifinal game between Argentina and Holland at the airport. Then they had to board their plane and turn off all communication with the outside world.

At least, that’s what the YouTube description for the following video says. The game was still scoreless after the two overtime periods but the fans on the plane had no what was happening. Then the captain made an announcement:

Yep, Argentina won in a penalty-kick shootout. The rough translation from the YouTube description: “We rejoiced in the machine of iron, more than 12 thousand meters in the air.”

That’s more than 39,000 feet.

BarDown first had the story.
