After losing the opening game at home, the Missouri Comets had it all to do in Milwaukee on Sunday. It took a late rally and a "mini game" to get there, but the Comets are headed to the MISL Championship game.

It's the first time the Comets have reached the championship since the rebirth of the club and the league in 2010.

The Comets were trailing the Milwaukee Wave with 34 seconds left in their season when Leo Gibson deflected home the winner to force a "mini game," which the Comets also won.

The 'mini-game' is a full 15-minute period and counts as a completely separate game, with scores reset to zero.

Up next: The Baltimore Blast. The first game is Thursday at the Independence Events Center at 7:35 p.m. Tickets will be on sale Monday at 1 p.m. For questions and information call 855.4KC.GOAL (855.452.4625).
