It was a rough road trip for the Missouri Comets, who come away from their first East Coast swing with losses in Syracuse and Rochester. The team is now 4-3 on the season.
On Friday, the Comets were taken down 13-7 by the Syracuse Silver Knights. It was Missouri's first road loss of the season.
The Comets picked up goals by Byron Alvarez, Will John, Leo Gibson and Vahid Assadpour. Goalkeeper Boris Pardo also made his first appearance of the season for the Comets.
Former UMKC and Kansas City Brass midfielder Bryan Perez scored a goal in his debut with the Silver Knights.
Less than 24 hours later on Saturday, the Comets' offense finally showed up -- which included a hat trick by midfielder Leo Gibson. Unfortunately, the Rochester Lancers brought more offense and toppled Missouri 24-17.
The Lancers' Doug Miller scored six goals, tying Missouri's Alvarez for most goals in a single game.
Up next for the 4-3 Comets is the first matchup with the Chicago Soul on Dec. 9 at the Independence Events Center. Kickoff is at 3:10 p.m. and is Comets Military Appreciation Day. The Comets will be wearing special, military-themed jerseys that fans can purchase after the game during a live auction.
Comets bring St. Louis to KC
Last week the Comets signed forward Stefan St. Louis (loo-ee) to bolster their attack. St. Louis is a native of Trinidad who recently played collegiately at Oakland University in Michigan where he earned two All-Summit League First Team selections.
He joined the team on the road trip and will make his home debut on Dec. 9.
