While all of the sports hubbub around town this weekend surrounds the Big 12 tournaments, the Sporting Kansas City season opener and the "will the Chiefs sign Peyton Manning" rumors, there's a sports story that has slipped a bit between the cracks: The first round of the Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs.
Tonight, the Missouri Comets will host the Milwaukee Wave in the first game of the division finals at 7:35 p.m. at the Independence Events Center. Game 2 is Sunday at 3 p.m. in Milwaukee.
If the teams should end Game 2 tied, a mini-game will immediately follow to determine the victor.
The winner of the two-game series will move on to the MISL Finals to face the winner of the Rochester Lancers and Baltimore Blast series.
A championship-starved community awaits the results.
