Earlier this morning, I posted Sporting Kansas City's new marketing video "Live for It," which debuted during the broadcast of The Grammy's on Sunday night.
Well, there's an entire marketing campaign behind that, the details of which were released later in the day. In addition to the commercial -- which will continue to air on local broadcasts through the season -- a second spot will debut on KSMO-TV during the team's first match of the season against D.C. United on March 10. The spots were created by Sporting Kansas City, Barkley and Liquid 9.
In case you missed it, here's the video again.
Oh, but wait, there's more. The "Live for It" campaign hit up local radio stations Sports Radio 810 WHB and 610 Sports Radio last week. This week, promotions will be heard on 96.5 The Bull, Mix 93.3 and Hot 103 Jamz.
Visually, there will be a few prominent billboards scattered throughout the KC area featuring 2011 MLS Rookie of the Year C.J. Sapong (one at I-435 and 350 Highway and another at I-70 and Indiana) and 2011 MLSSoccer.com Breakout Player of the Year Graham Zusi (I-35 and Cambridge Circle) going up in the next two weeks.. Future billboards will include defender Matt Besler and goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen.
All this is part of KC's push to fill up Livestrong Sporting Park for its second year in existence.
Single-game tickets for Sporting Kansas City’s first eight home matches of the 2012 MLS season at LSP go on sale to the general public beginning Friday. Tickets may be purchased on Ticketmaster.com or at the Livestrong Sporting Park Box Offices (open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CT).
The Cauldron, the main organizers of the Member's Stand, sold out their allotment of 300 tickets tonight in 25-30 minutes. Meaning that the Member's Stand during the home opener will be filled with 2,000 folks.
