The Missouri Comets fought their way into the MISL playoffs on Sunday with a 17-14 victory over the Milwaukee Wave. The Comets will face the Wave in the MISL semifinals in a few weeks.
The victory on Sunday was the Comets' fourth-straight. It set half of the Major Indoor Soccer League's playoff bracket. Milwaukee, the central division champion, will face the Comets in a two-game series with a 15-minute mini-game to follow Game 2 if necessary.
The Comets, 12-8 on the season) will host Game 1 at the Independence Events Center on Friday, Marcy 9 at 7:35 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, March 11. The winner of the series will face an eastern conference foe in the MISL Finals.
Well, before the Comets get to the playoffs, they still have three games remaining -- all at home. This coming Sunday, Missouri hosts Rochester at 3:10 p.m.
On Friday night, the Comets beat the Baltimore Blast 18-9 at the Independence Events Center with help from midfielder Lucas Rodriguez's six-point night.
