The Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League will play their Saturday, Jan. 14, game against the Wichita Wings at the Sprint Center. Kickoff will be at 7:35 p.m.
The Comets, in their second season after returning to the MISL, play their home games at the Independence Events Center, but are playing this game downtown in conjunction with the Kansas City-based National Soccer Coaches Association of America annual convention Jan 12-15. The convention is expected to bring between 15,000 and 20,000 visitors to the area.
The game against Wichita, a former longtime rival that is returning to the MISL this season, will also be the Comets’ annual Retro game that pays homage to the original Kansas City Comets that played in Kemper Arena during the 1980s and ‘90s.
The Comets will open the regular season on Nov. 3 at Wichita and will face the Wings in the home opener on Friday, Nov. 4.
