Davy Arnaud, the longest-tenured player for Sporting Kansas City, will undergo sports hernia surgery Wednesday in Los Angeles. He is expected to miss six weeks recovering from the surgery.
"I'm a quick healer and I will work hard to get back on the field," Arnaud said. "With the new stadium and our commitment to making the playoffs, I will do whatever it takes to return and contribute on the field."
Arnaud, 31, has appeared in 15 matches this season, his 10th with Sporting KC. Arnaud ranks second all-time in games played with 233 regular-season games played for Sporting KC, which plays at 10 p.m. Saturday against the Portland Timbers.
