Apologies for the lack of activity today... here are a few stories I’ve links I’ve been clicking you might find very interesting.
• Andy Edwards at The Daily Wiz has a proven track record (see Collin, Aurelien) of sniffing out potential Sporting Kansas City targets. After yesterday’s tweet from Robb Heineman about a central defender/defensive midfielder, Andy did work and dug up a name:Chivas and Mexican defender Aaron Galindo.
I trust Andy and believe he’s pretty well sourced on this one.
•MLSsoccer.com’s Andrew Weibe reports that KC isn’t making excuses about Saturday’s draw with Vancouver,
but Peter Vermes does blame the artificial surface at Empire Field for the leg cramps that stung the team. Weibe also reports that supplemental draft pick Michal Mravec has been let go and the team is trying to work out a deal for 18-year-old defender Omar Colley (but have hit snags).
•Vancouver is still a flutter about the "Miracle on Hastings Street."
• Today was an election day throughout Kansas City. Don’t forget to exercise your right to vote multiple times forTeal Bunbury for MLS Goal of the Week and Jimmy Nielsen for MLS Save of the Week.
• Coming up tomorrow: An abbreviated Morning Kickoff, a U.S. Open Cup preview and a lot more than you got today. Promise.
