Former Sporting Kansas City forward Will John is coming back to Kansas City. This time, he'll join the Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
John, of Overland Park, holds Rockhurst High School's single-season scoring record with 36 goals and 20 assists. He was selected in the second round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft after playing college soccer at St. Louis University. John joined Kansas City in 2006 and played four games with the club. He is currently a member of NK Yinogradar in Croatia. He will be in uniform (#30) on Wednesday when the Comets play Baltimore.
The Comets also signed defender Jamie Harding. Harding played college soccer at Kansas Newman College in Wichita and began his professional career with the Wichita Wings in 1996. He played one season for the Kansas City Comets in 2002-03. He will also be in uniform (#16) tomorrow night. "I’ve known Will his entire life," said Comets head coach Kim Roentved. "He’s a young, exciting and athletic player who has played in some of the top leagues around the world, while Jamie brings a no-nonsense, physical presence in the back for us."
Comets tickets are on-sale at 816-478-BALL or online at cometsindoorsoccer.com. Groups and youth soccer teams can also “Play Like the Comets” on the field before every Comets home game.
