TORONTO — Toronto FC has hired former Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann as an adviser.
The struggling Major League Soccer team said Wednesday that Klinsmann and his company, SoccerSolutions, will help the club reorganize its infrastructure.
A star striker in Germany, England and Italy, Klinsmann scored 274 goals for club and country. As a coach, he led Germany to third place in the 2006 World Cup, spent a season at Bayern Munich and worked with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Toronto FC said Klinsmann will work closely with interim director of football Earl Cochrane and assistant general manager Jim Brennan.
