On Sunday, the Chiefs worked on the short-passing game with an interesting drill indoors at Missouri Western State University.
The drill consisted of the quarterback and throwing to running backs running short passing routes against the linebackers on defense.
The Chiefs’ defense proved it was up to the task, however.
The stars of the drill were inside linebacker Josh Mauga, who picked off quarterback Chase Daniel on one short throw over the middle, and outside linebacker Frank Zombo, who intercepted rookie Aaron Murray on a pass that also came over the middle.
