What metropolitan populace watches its NFL team most often?
The answer is Saints fans in New Orleans. But Chiefs fans in the Kansas City area weren’t far behind, and their bandwagon grew in this playoff season.

compiled ratings of NFL teams during regular-season games in their home markets, and more New Orleans-area residents watched Saints games than any other place in the league, with a local rating of 52 percent.
The Broncos in the Denver area were next at 43.5 percent, the Packers in the Milwaukee area were third at 42.9 percent and the Chiefs were fourth, also at 42.9 percent.
The Chiefs’ 41 percent improvement over their 2012 local number (30.3 percent) marked the biggest jump in the NFL.
The bottom: The Raiders in the Oakland-San Francisco-San Jose market at 10.9 percent. But the Raiders share that market with the 49ers.
