Former Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel and former Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons head coach Jerry Glanville will serve as head coaches in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 18 at Tropicana Field.

Crennel, who is being interviewed in Houston on Wednesday for the Texans' defensive coordinator position under newly named head coach Bill O'Brien, has long been regarded as one of the best defensive minds in the NFL.

But he's kept a low profile after being pink-slipped in Kansas City.

"This promises to be an absolutely wonderful experience," Crennel said in a news release. "I’m truly excited about the chance to meet and work with these outstanding young men."

Crennel was fired by the Chiefs after their final loss, at Denver, wrapped up a 2-14 season in 2012.
