The Chiefs will have to beat Oakland today in order to clinch a playoff spot.
Miami’s Ryan Tannehill’s 14-yard pass to Marcus Thigpen in the final minute gave the Dolphins a 24-20 win over New England and raised the Dolphins’ record to 8-6.
The Chiefs took a 10-3 record into today’s game.
New England fell to 10-4, meaning Denver, despite its loss to San Diego last Thursday night, again holds the top seed, at 11-3.
If Cincinnati, 9-4, beats Pittsburgh on Sunday night, the Bengals would displace New England for the No. 2 seed by virtue of the Bengals’ victory over the Patriots earlier this season.
