With tight end Anthony Fasano’s availability for Sunday’s game at Washington in doubt because of a concussion, the Chiefs are expected to promote tight end Dominque Jones from the practice squad at the end of the week.
Jones, 6-3, 270, joined the Chiefs practice squad at midseason after spending 2012-13 with the Indianapolis Colts. Jones, who played collegiately at Shepherd (W.Va.) University, appeared in 10 games for the Colts, making three starts. He caught three passes for 42 yards in that time.
"He's a guy who has some experience," said Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson. "He's going to have some opportunity this weekend to play ... using our two-tight end sets."
Before signing with the Colts, he played with the Reading Express of the Indoor Football League, leading the team with 39 receptions for 349 yards and seven touchdowns, and he also played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League.
