The Chiefs will likely start their second-teamers against the Rams on Thursday in their final preseason game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.
“Most likely the twos will start it off, I’ll make that decision once we’re there,” Reid said Tuesday. “They got good work today, along with the threes, so good chance they get quite a bit of playing time.”
That would mean Chase Daniel gets the call at quarterback in St. Louis.
“We’re going to try to sharpen everything up and play well,” Daniel said.
Never miss a local story.
Daniel, the seventh-year pro from Missouri, has had a superb preseason, leading touchdown drives on four of his six possessions. Those occurred in the first two preseason games against the Cardinals and Seahawks. Daniel didn’t play in last week’s game against the Titans.
