Ladies, are you ready to learn -- and play -- some football?

Chiefs Hall of Fame guard Will Shields will host his annual Women’s Football 101 clinic at 7 p.m., Sept. 10 at 68 Inside Sports Indoor Training Facility, 9111 Flint, in Overland Park.

Those attending should wear comfortable/workout clothing and athletic shoes; the course will be held on an actual turf field set up for football.

A $10 donation is suggested to cover Women’s Football 101; a portion of the proceeds will benefit Back in the Swing USA, the Kansas City-based grassroots national nonprofit organization supporting breast cancer survivorship education, clinical care and academic medical research (

“Be ready punch, tackle and catch your way to understanding the game of football,” Shields said.
