The new administration of the Chiefs continued to build the bottom of the roster by signing three more players who were backups at previous NFL stops: defensive end Marcus Dixon, tight end Kevin Brock and wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Dixon played in 22 games and started four over the past three seasons for the New York Jets. He compiled a total of 2 1/2 sacks.

The 6-5, 249-pound Brock played in two games for the Buffalo Bills in 2011, catching two passes for 27 yards. The 5-11, 194-pound Gilyard played in 19 games and caught a total of eight passes in two NFL seasons with St. Louis, Philadelphia and the Jets.

Gilyard played in six games last season for the Eagles, then coached by Andy Reid. But he didn’t catch a pass for Philadelphia.
