The Chiefs, with four Missouri Tigers on the roster, didn’t corner the market on former Mizzou players.
The Arizona Cardinals’ Sean Weatherspoon, a former All-Big 12 linebacker, was listed as a starter at inside linebacker, but he pulled a hamstring on the first day of camp and was not expected to play Saturday vs. the Chiefs. Weatherspoon spent his first five NFL seasons with the Falcons before signing a one-year, $3.85 million contract with the Cardinals.
Markus Golden, Arizona’s second-round draft selection after playing on two Missouri SEC Eastern Division title teams, was listed third at outside linebacker.
Cardinals’ third-team nose tackle Xavier Williams played at Grandview High and is an undrafted free agent from Northern Iowa.
Also suiting up for the Cardinals: Former Pittsburg State wide receiver John Brown, who had a breakout 2014 with an NFL record four game-winning touchdown receptions, and Gannon Sinclair, a rookie free against tight end from Missouri State.
