You never know who will turn up at Chiefs camp.
Sunday it was Maryland basketball coach Mark Turgeon, whose team is expected to be ranked in the national top five this season.
Turegon grew up in Topeka and played and coached at Kansas before embarking on a head coaching career that’s included stops at Wichita State and Texas A&M before Maryland. He returned to the Midwest to visit family and take in Royals games and a Chiefs workout.
Like the Chiefs, expectations are high for Terrapins hoops.
“We knew the expectations were coming, and we had a great summer where we worked hard,” Turgeon said. “We’re ready for it. We’re excited about it.”
