The Chiefs will honor Grain Valley’s David Allie and Blue Valley’s Eric Driskell as high school football coaches of the year in Missouri and Kansas before Sunday’s game against the Titans.
The coaches will be recognized on the field before the game and both schools will receive a $1,500 grant from the Hunt Family Foundation that is designated for player health and safety equipment and/or education.
Allie coached Grain Valley to its first Missouri River Valley Conference West title and the program’s first winning record since 2010. The program advanced to the district championship game for the first time.
Driskell coached Blue Valley an undefeated regular season and to the Kansas 6A title game for the second straight year and fifth time since becoming the Tigers’ head coach in 2010.
Never miss a local story.
The High School Coach of the Year program is a joint effort of the Chiefs and NFL.
