Eric Hosmer heads to disabled list, but Royals manager Ned Yost hesitant to add hitter

The Royals placed first baseman Eric Hosmer on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday morning, and in the process left the team imbalanced. Jason Vargas inherited Hosmer’s spot as he returned from an appendectomy in July, and inflated the total of pitchers on the roster to 13.
