It’s time for another Royals On The Farm report, a weekly look at each level of Kansas City’s minor-league system.
(Statistics through Wednesday’s games.)
Class AAA Omaha
The Storm Chasers, 38-51, open the unofficial second half of the season Thursday night at home against Salt Lake, 14 games out of first place in the Pacific Coast League’s American Northern Division.
Never miss a local story.
Third baseman Hunter Dozier was named the PCL Player of the Week for July 4-10 after hitting .636 (14 for 22) with two home runs and five runs batted in.

After a rocky 2015 season, Dozier is having his best season in the minors with a .341 batting average, nine homers and 30 RBIs in 57 games at Omaha.
Center fielder Bubba Starling is hitting .294 in 10 games in Class AAA. The former first-round pick has gone without a hit in only two games since his promotion, but he’s striking out in nearly one-third of his at-bats (11 in 34).

A former second-round pick, Staumont walked nine batters Monday in 3 2/3 innings against Myrtle Beach. Staumont has a 2-10 record and 5.05 ERA but batters are hitting just .222 against him.

He struck out a career-high 10 batters and allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings Tuesday at Kannapolis.
