Still clinging to a foothold in the middle of the playoff pack, the Royals would be well-served in collecting a series victory over the lowly Twins this week at Kauffman Stadium.

The offense failed to dent Kyle Gibson in Tuesday’s series opener. Now it will be up to the starting pitcher with the lowest ERA in their rotation.

Here are the lineups for Wednesday’s game as Danny Duffy (5-10, 2.47 ERA) faces Phil Hughes (10-7, 4.10 ERA):

TWINS (48-57)

1. Danny Santana, CF.

2. Sam Fuld, LF.

3. Brian Dozier, 2B.

4. Josh Willingham, DH.

5. Trevor Plouffe, 3B.

6. Kurt Suzuki, C.

7. Chris Colabello, 1B.

8. Chris Parmalee, RF.

9. Eduardo Nunez, SS.

ROYALS (53-52)

1. Nori Aoki, RF.

2. Omar Infante, 2B.

3. Eric Hosmer, 1B.

4. Salvador Perez, C.

5. Alex Gordon, LF.

6. Billy Butler, DH.

7. Mike Moustakas, 3B.
