The Royals lineup on Thursday is an interesting one, on several levels.

Eric Hosmer is sitting out again, a day after aggravating his bruised right hand. Billy Butler replaces him at first base.

That creates a void at designated hitter. Manager Ned Yost opted for Nori Aoki (.655 OPS) over Raul Ibanez (.421 OPS with Royals) and Danny Valencia (whose .722 OPS is boosted by success against lefties, not righties).

Here are the lineups as LHP Danny Duffy (5-10, 2.66 ERA) faces RHP Corey Kluber (10-6, 2.95 ERA):

INDIANS (51-50)

1. Jason Kipnis, 2B.

2. Mike Aviles, LF.

3. Michael Brantley, CF.

4. Carlos Santana, 1B.

5. Ryan Raburn, RF.

6. Nick Swisher, DH.

7. Yan Gomes, C.

8. Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B.

9. Jose Ramirez, SS.

ROYALS (50-50)

1. Jarrod Dyson, CF.

2. Omar Infante, 2B.

3. Alex Gordon, LF.

4. Salvador Perez, C.

5. Mike Moustakas, 3B.

6. Lorenzo Cain, RF.

7. Billy Butler, 1B.

8. Nori Aoki, DH.

9. Alcides Escobar, SS.
