Class AAA Omaha first baseman Matt Fields is having a great month.
Fields had four hits, including a double, his 18th home run and drove in three runs Sunday in a 7-1 win at Colorado Springs. For the month of July, Fields has a slash line of .353/.411/.824 with six homers, four doubles, a triple and 15 RBIs in just 13 games.
Shortstop Paul Janish went four for four and DH Johnny Giavotella had two hits and scored twice.
Starter Joe Saunders, who signed this month, allowed one run in three innings. Tim Collins, 2-1, tossed three perfect innings with four strikeouts.
**Jorge Bonifacio’s RBI triple was the key blow in a three-run seventh inning as Class AA Northwest Arkansas beat Tulsa 5-1. The Naturals also drew two walks and had a batter reach on an error in the inning. Reliever Ali Williams, 3-1, threw three scoreless innings, allowing two walks.
**Miguel Almonte allowed four runs on nine hits in just 3 2/3 innings as Class A-Advanced Wilmington lost 5-1 to Salem. DH Michael Antonio had two hits.
**First baseman Frank Schwindel had four hits and right fielder Dexter Kjestad had three in Class A Lexington’s 6-5 win over Hagerstown. Matt Alvarez and Luis Rico each allowed just one hit in four scoreless innings.
**Bryan Brickhouse pitched two hitless innings for Rookie-Advanced Idaho Falls in a 4-0 win over Great Falls. Brickhouse is recovering from Tommy John surgery he had last year. Jake Newberry, 3-0, gave up four hits and struck out five in 5 1/3 innings of relief. Shortstop Corey Toups had three doubles and two RBIs, while DH Wander Franco had two doubles and a triple.
**Center fielder Logan Moon hit two homers among his three hits, scored four times and drove in three runs in Rookie Burlington’s 10-1 win over Johnson City. Chase Vallot hit a two-run homer and had three RBIs, while Ryan Dale had three hits.
