Omar Infante dropped to No. 6 in batting order as KC Royals face LA Dodgers

Royals second baseman Omar Infante will bat sixth on Monday as the Royals begin a three-game series with the Dodgers. Infante had batted in the top of the team’s order for much of this season.

"Omar is one of our better hitters with runners in scoring position," manager Ned Yost said. "But he hasn’t had many opportunities to take advantage of that. . . . He understands what he needs to do in those spots. And we want to try to take more advantage of that experience."

Infante is having one of the worst offensive seasons of his career. But he is batting .309 with men in scoring position.

Here are the lineups as RHP Jeremy Guthrie (4-6, 3.86 ERA) faces RHP Zack Greinke (9-3, 2.57 ERA):
